Hollow Form Vessel from Utah Juniper with Malachite, Red Coral, and Coal inlay, 10.5” diameter x 8.125” tall with 2.125” opening, buffed CA finish. This is one of my favorite pieces. I collected the wood on the Uncompahgre Plateau from a truly ancient tree that was likely over a thousand years old. It was dead having fallen over probably over 100 years ago. Much of the main trunk (almost 4 foot diameter) and several of the major root branches remained. This piece came from one of the major root branches. Due to the extreme weathering this piece offered a lot of opportunities for inlay work.
