Live Edge Hollow Form Vessel from Spalted Boxelder Burl with Jet inlay, 13.5” diameter x 19” tall with a buffed oil/wax finish. The boxelder came from a huge tree in Salt Lake City. The red staining is a form of spalting that occurs in boxelder when the tree is damaged in some manner … typically by insects. The voids in the piece are where bark inclusions went deep into the burl.
