Live Edge Hollow Form Vessel from Tamarisk with crushed Turquoise inlay, 12.5” diameter x 8.875” tall, walnut oil and Osmo hard wax/oil finish. This is an extremely large piece of Tamarisk (sometimes called Salt Cedar). It is an invasive species that takes millions of acre feet of water from the Colorado River system in the Southwest annually. They have been trying to eradicate it for decades and I’m happy to do my part. 😀. The wood is really beautiful and makes for interesting turnings with the irregularities in the trunk shapes and all the deep bark inclusions and opportunities for void space in the finished pieces.
