Hollow Form Vessel from Eastern Red Cedar with Malachite inlay, 9 1/2” tall x 13” diameter with 2 3/16” opening. Buffed to 50,000 grit diamond finish. A Friend gave me he wood when he had 2 trees removed from his yard. Cedar is very challenging to work with as it is brittle and fractures easily and makes turning hollow forms difficult ... particularly with the holes from deep bark inclusions I wanted to have in the piece. I love the colors and grain patterns in this piece and of course being cedar the smell is wonderful.
