Hollow Form Vessel from “Rich Lighter” Ponderosa Pine with Turquoise inlay, 18” diameter x 15.5” tall with 4.875” opening, buffed to 50,000 grit CA finish. The wood came from a very old tree on the Uncompahgre Plateau that fell over at least 100 years ago. The wood was very weathered and had been damaged by insects, time, and fire ... but inside it has those rich golden colors that only very old pines get as the resin in the wood ages and hardens over the years. The damaged areas make for great places to do mineral inlay and some of the voids in the piece accent the beauty of the wood and allow a look into the interior of the piece.
Due to it’s large size this vessel would be great as an eye catching center piece for a room or good sized entryway.
