WT #130, Large Hollow Form Vessel from Beetle Killed Ponderosa Pine with Turquoise inlay, 21.5” tall x 14” diameter with 3.125” opening. Cyanoacrylate and buffed oil finish to 50,000 grit diamond polish. The grey-blue staining in the wood is spalting which is caused by a fungus that the mountain pine beetles carry in their mouths. The crushed turquoise inlay fills the cavities eaten thru the wood by the beetles and also in the checking that occurred as the wood dried out.
